To our friends and family, Nine pieces of luggage, 4 carryons, 1 car seat, three airplanes and over 25 hours of travel time, the Greer family is finally here in Madang, Papua New Guinea!! Thank you all for your prayers. We made it through customs and immigration without any problems and we were never charged for overweight or extra pieces of luggage. God is so good.
When the captain announced “Welcome to Papua New Guinea”, Mason turned to Carina and said “mommy, we’re home!” It made us both tear up. It is so amazing to finally be here. We had a 8 hour layover in Port Moresbey (PNG’s capital city) so we were able to have breakfast with Australian missionary/pastors Bill and Corey Page and then attend their church, and see the great work that God is doing there. We were blessed to be prayed over by the church and Mason and Ezra had fun in Sunday school with the hundreds of children at the church.
As we got off the airplane in Madang we were greeted by the Pastor Kario and his wife Mavis and several woman from the church who greeted us with beautiful hand made lei’s for each of us. The people were so excited to have us and That night they had a special dinner at the church to officially welcome us. At dinner we were introduced to the pastoral staff and the president of the bible school, as well as Kumorah the National youth director for PNG. They closed the dinner with praying over us thanking God that we said yes to His calling to come to them and that “they receive us as family”. After dinner they took us to our apartment (which is on the church property). Carina was very excited because the inside is painted her favorite color – yellow. We are so excited and thankful to finally be here. It has taken a lot of prayer and work to get to his point and this is really just the beginning. Please pray for us:- that we would find a great deal on a vehicle as we shop for a reliable off road truck- as we settle into our new home– that God would give us the grace we need to adjust culturally and that our friendships with the people of Madang would bloom quickly.- for health as Carina got sick on the plane and it has now been passed around the whole family– also that our immune systems would quickly adjust to a new diet, new climate, etc..Thank you all for your prayers and generous support. We appreciate it and need it. We will talk again soon, Paul, Carina, Mason, and Ezra Greer,
I am so thrilled to see that God is truly answering our prayers for your safe arrival!
We are standing with you in prayer on this new adventure and believing that God will use all of you to lead many to Him.
I am always honored to be in your lives!
